Mawning
A new choreographic work that explores classicism and formalism, by simultaneously celebrating and subverting traditional forms and references in dance. The piece will develop an austere choreographic vocabulary that explores the violent potential of rhythmic structures, and extend on distinctive dream/nightmare logics from our 2022 short work ‘What’s Actually Happening’ (Keir Choreographic Award).
This work is being supported by The Australian Ballet , through a tailored residency program with accompanying professional development opportunities.
Presentation planned for 2025.
Choreography and performance: Alice Dixon, Caroline Meaden, William McBride
